    Eu tive uma questão semelhante. O servidor MySQL foi instalado e ambos não podem ao mesmo tempo. encontrei-o usando o comentário user535733. mysql e mariadb desinstalados poderiam então ser.

    aconteceu comigo ao atualizar as principais versões do mariadb de 10.3 para 10.4 com o próprio repositório mariadb.org.

    É possível que eu não tenha insight, mas apt depends -r <package>não me deu uma dica, mas eu sabia que a cadeia era mariadb-server -> mariadb-server-10.x -> mariadb-server-core-10.x.

    Depois de remover todos os pacotes mariadb primeiro e fornecer todos os pacotes, o apt cumpriu.

    apt remove mariadb-server mariadb-server-10.3 mariadb-server-core-10.3
    
    apt install mariadb-server mariadb-server-10.4 mariadb-server-core-10.4
    

    No meu caso, ainda não consegui ir para 10.4.19, então usei a saída da política apt-cache para usar uma versão específica.

    apt-cache policy mariadb-server
    
    apt install mariadb-server="1:10.4.18+maria~bionic" \
                mariadb-server-10.4="1:10.4.18+maria~bionic" \
