Estou tentando remover o python, mas me disseram que ele removerá quase todos os meus pacotes instalados (exagero). Como posso remover o python 3.8 e não todos os outros pacotes?

Um desktop linux moderno é construído em grande parte usando python. Você pode remover o python, mas também remove a área de trabalho. Não há como contornar. Você não pode remover as fundações sem derrubar a casa também.
