Eu sou um usuário simples do pulseaudio. Sem configurações especiais.
Uso o kubuntu 18.04 com bom áudio neste notebook há anos.
Um mês ou dois atrás, uma atualização do kernel quebrou meu áudio, então reverti para o kernel anterior até que o próximo fosse lançado, que funcionou novamente.
Acabei de instalar algumas atualizações normais no meu sistema e o áudio não funciona mais.
Eu não reinicio com muita frequência - a menos que uma atualização exija, então não tenho certeza se algo quebrou, mas não se manifestou até que eu tivesse que reiniciar para o novo kernel.
Como posso consertar isso?
Acabei de reiniciar e meu áudio sumiu. O aparelho desapareceu. (kubuntu 18.04 Intel 64 bits)
Estava funcionando bem mais cedo ontem.
Tentei voltar ao kernel anterior.
Eu tentei algumas versões anteriores do linux-firmware.

Isso é um monte de zeros, mas não sei como fica quando funciona.
Tentei reproduzir um mp3 e o Amarok diz que não há dispositivo - voltando ao padrão.
As configurações do sistema mostram apenas o padrão. Geralmente, há um dispositivo analógico e um dispositivo digital (HDMI).
Eu passei pelo meu histórico de pacotes e nada mais salta para mim.

Instale pavucontrol (controle de volume Pulseaudio),
Na guia de configuração , verifique se "perfil" não está definido como HDMI, mas como analógico.
Também na guia do dispositivo de saída , clique no botão verde próximo a "áudio interno" para torná-lo padrão.
O próximo passo é o alsamixer para verificar os faders silenciados no nível Alsa: (F6 para selecionar o dispositivo de som).
Procure aqui para mais detalhes.
