Recentemente, atualizamos nosso provedor de internet, que agora vem com wifi de 2.4Ghz e 5Ghz. Eu posso conectar corretamente em 2.4Ghz enquanto em 5Ghz estou experimentando "atrasos" aleatórios na conexão. Mais especificamente, o gerenciador de rede não está se desconectando do roteador, no entanto, para atualizar uma página em um navegador quando o atraso ocorre, ele precisa de 7 a 30 segundos. Algumas vezes a conexão ssh também cai. Isso está acontecendo de maneira aleatória, mas geralmente a cada 3-5 minutos. Tentei mudar o canal de 5Ghz sem sorte. O restante dos dispositivos da casa não está apresentando problemas.
Eu já tentei reinstalar as unidades Intel 3160 a partir de backports, bem como reinstalar a imagem linux sem sorte. Eu também desabilitei wifi.powersave para wlan0 sem sorte.
Alguém tem uma ideia de como resolver ou depurar esse problema?

Parece que o problema era o driver do adaptador wifi. Resolvi o problema com sucesso atualizando o Kernel para a versão mais recente (4.18) incluída no repositório stretch-backports.
Apt deve ter fontes de backports habilitadas
então instale o kernel:
e reinicie para carregar o novo kernel.
