permanece a mesma.
Por que isso acontece? Devo me preocupar? E se eu deveria me preocupar, como eu faria para consertar isso?

descobriu que a versão do módulo (não a versão do pacote dkms) é a mesma que está agora no kernel em execução e não a substitui.Mas o código é diferente e é mostrado na
dkms status
saída.Você pode corrigi-lo incrementando a versão do módulo no código-fonte ou usando
--force
a opção sugerida.Parece que você precisava deste pacote DKMS com um kernel 5.0 mais antigo. Agora o Ubuntu 18.04 está usando o kernel 5.3 que possui esse módulo nativamente. Então você pode remover os dkms agora.
